Gulshan Nanda has been immensely popular and impressive story teller of late sixties and seventies era.He has written novels and stories to entertain his readers.A number of Bollywood blockbusters have been made on his novels.Reading his novels just gives an impression of watching an entertaining movie of days gone by.His plots are always interwoven with masterly craft of a wordsmith of superlative genre.His focus is always on social issues which he deals with an undercurrent of romance.His romanticism is always intune with moral issues.He just mesmrises his readers with the magic of his pen.What he wrote was powerful and popular fiction.He was a visionary and a dreamer who was also able to take our fancy for a ride along with his dream and make us feel that it is our dream and we are a part of that dream.He has written about the dreams and aspirations,smiles and cheers,tears and turbulations,frustrations and helplessness,joy and fun of general public.When we talk about the novels of Sharat Chandra,Bankim Chandra,Tagore,Charles Dickens,Thomas Hardy,Jane Austen,George Orwell or even Henry Fielding,they all used their writing skills to interweave the social scenario of their times and its various dimensions on human mind and ethos.Gulsha Nanda also did that. Bhai saab,I have read few of his novels,though quite a long time before.All of them are felt deeply & emotionally.AWAARA BADAL was a novel,particularly jisko mujhe KISI NE poora khud saamne padh ke sunaya tha,besides his all creations are REALLY a MASTERPIECE from masses'point of view.
