An Event of Pseudo Intellectualism and Secularism.

I am very upset over the trend of pseudo secular intellectuals who make so much hue and cry over M.F.Hussain’s opting to settle in a different country. It is shameful to call it a shame. It is the individual choice of an individual. As far as the aspect of artistic and creative freedom is concerned; the Hussain sympathizers must speak up about Salman Rushdie,Taslima Nasreen and the cartoon made by a Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard. Stop vote bank politics please. Our so called pseudo secular forces are keeping mum over Salman Rushdie,Tasleema Nasreen and Danish cartoonist.Their freedom of expression is as much important as Hussain’s. Hussain can not be allowed to paint nude goddesses in the name of artistic freedom. No one can hurt the religious feelings of any one,it is protected in the constitution.if Hussain can be given that freedom why not others? No double standards can be shown. It is intellectual bankruptsy.

It is lamentable that Tasleema is not getting her due respect in India due to dirty political designs of so called secular politicians and pseudo intellectuals.West Bengal is ruled by a Communist party.Communism treats religion as opium, yet Tasleema has been ill treated there due to petty political gains. But Tasleema is highly respected by general reader; for her courage and boldness .Her books are popular and path breaking.

Hussain’s going away from India is not at all an issue of any significance. We have so many great painters in India who do not hurt sentiments of a community. He was just one of the many painters who lived here.We will have many more in future.India is a great country,it does not need any one like him who can hurt the sentiments of a community by nude paintings. Our newspapers and Channels are depicting this event as a very important national event. What a pity.We have not lost anything;in fact he has lost the honour and pride of being called an Indian. It is his ingratitude towards his motherland.
