The distasteful Paa and vulgar Three Idiots.

Recently I saw Paa and Three Idiots. For me Cinema is a powerful medium of Entertainment, learning and Social Messaging. In my humble opinion, I found both these movies vulgar, absurd and obscene. Paa ,in spite of a couple of indecent shots and not so healthy dialogues is quite ok.But my aesthetic sense got a severe blow when I saw Three Idiots. The film maker has stooped so low in choice of language and dictum. The movie is full of vulgar scenes, foul language and distasteful picturisation. You do not have to be cheap and shallow to make hit and popular films. We as film lovers should not condone such dirty scenes and dialogues. Why we waste our hard earn money for such tasteless things?Freedom of artistic creativity can never be at the cost of producing vulgarity.

I do not know why so much crude element looms large in our movies? You can depict any story without vulgar and foul picturisation too.It is a pity that abusive foul language and dirty scenes are used to increase the popularity of films. How we can watch such disturbing scenes and hear foul language with our families? We should not encourage such elements.I request our Censor Board to be vigilant and pass such movies with ‘A’ certificate only. Our children must be protected against such crudity.I am sure even film makers themselves can not see such films with their families.

  1. anything that is cheap sells whehter is be language, ideas or goods. Our present day filmmakers are as competitive as any other professional group and so they are trying to make the maximum profit. But it for society to accept or reject their attempts at selling what is obscece, crude, filthy or vulgar. Where is that sense of social responsibility......????

  2. IDIOT(I'll Do It On my Terms) and that's what Hirani achieves while making a movie on his own terms. You cannot draw parallels with any other film, past or present, but still people will compare it with the MUNNABHAI SERIES of Hirani but one should understand that every movie is different from the other. On the other hand, Hirani as usual, all set to give another message. Very often, we've read news-reports of students committing suicides because they've to live up to the family's pressure/expectations. This film depicts it at the very start, when a student commits suicide. But the issue doesn't end there, for 3 IDIOTS raises a pertinent question: Was it suicide or murder?

Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dreams. That's the main essence of the movie and as an engineering graduate I can relate with this movie not only because I'm an engineer but b'coz when something comes in your way which seems real, you can easily fall in love with it and there is something for everyone in the movie.

As per the language of the movie is concerned, one can simply have a look around himself or kindly visit an engineering college.

At last, don't forget another message in the movie 'EXCELLENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE DEGREE'........you always know better......

  3. Grow up young man.Just see where we have landed ourselves. In day-to-day life it is okay to hear or utter the so-called filthy language but not in cinema.WHY???Cinema is,only as good as our society and praises are coming from all groups of society, for the film 3 IDIOTS,not because vulgar language is used but because it treats a subject in realistic manners and there is no harm in depicting a subject like this.If u cannot stop any two person talking to each other in absurd way,in the same way one cannot stop anyone to make or see such films. If u don't like just don't see it.Never ever bother about today's generatin, they are far-more clever than u & me
